Divorce has a funny way of shaking your confidence. One day, you’re a wife with a plan, a family calendar, and matching throw pillows. The next, you’re staring at yourself in sweatpants at 2 a.m. wondering, Who even am I now?
Here’s the thing: confidence doesn’t disappear forever—it just gets buried under the rubble of heartbreak. And babe, you can dig it out.
We tell ourselves, “I’ll be confident when…”
When I lose the weight.
When someone new loves me.
When my life feels put back together.
But confidence doesn’t wait for perfect. Confidence shows up in the messy middle—when you’re rocking yoga pants and last night’s mascara.

Divorce makes you question everything: Am I lovable? Am I enough? Can I actually do this alone? And if you had an ex who chipped away at your self-esteem… whew, those words echo long after they’re gone.
Confidence isn’t automatic post-divorce. It’s a rebuild. Brick by brick.
I’ll be honest—my eyeliner phase was a disaster. One raccoon eye, one wing sharp enough to kill a man. Confidence? Pending.
But you know what? The win wasn’t in the perfect eyeliner. It was in the fact that I tried again. That I laughed at myself. That I realized—even on raccoon-eye days—I was still worthy.
Start small. Say yes to yourself. Dinner solo, new lipstick, telling someone no.
Talk back to the mean voice. When she whispers “you’re not enough,” tell her to shut it. Bonus points if you say it out loud in Target.
Own your sweatpants confidence. If you can feel good in a messy bun and yoga pants, you can feel good anywhere.
Collect your wins. Write down every survival moment—your “hell yes I did that” list.
Try new things. Confidence grows in action. Dance, hike, paint, take the trip. Remind yourself you’re still capable.
There were nights I felt like the least confident woman alive. But one day, I caught myself laughing—like really laughing. And I thought, Oh my God, there she is. The confident version of me isn’t gone. She’s just been buried.
Every laugh, every risk, every messy-but-real step—that’s how confidence comes back. Not in one lightning bolt, but in tiny sparks.

So, what’s your sweatpants confidence move? Maybe it’s red lipstick. Maybe it’s saying no without guilt. Maybe it’s dancing in your kitchen with a glass of wine.
Confidence isn’t about waiting for perfect. It’s about embracing you—exactly as you are.
Confidence looks good on you, babe. Sweatpants, messy bun, coffee breath, and all. And the sooner you believe that? The sooner the rest of the world will too.
