Stop Chasing: What’s Meant for You Won’t Run Away
After divorce, it’s so easy to chase.
We chase closure, validation, one more conversation that might fix it, or one last look that might make sense of the heartbreak. We chase because it feels like doing something—and in the chaos of loss, something feels better than nothing.
But chasing doesn’t heal you, babe—it drains you. It’s the illusion of control when you’re really just avoiding the ache of letting go.
And I get it. I’ve been that woman—refreshing my phone like it held the key to my worth, drafting texts I’d never send, holding onto people who’d already walked away because the silence felt too loud.
Chasing gave me something to hold on to… until I realized what I was holding wasn’t love. It was fear.
Why We Chase
We chase because we care. Because we remember the good moments. Because we want the fairytale ending we were promised.
But underneath it all, we chase because rejection feels like proof that maybe, deep down, we weren’t enough.
You know that voice—the one that whispers, If I can just make them see me, they’ll come back. They’ll understand. They’ll choose me this time.
But here’s the truth, and I want you to tattoo it on your heart:
✨ You are not hard to love—you were just loving in the wrong direction.
It’s not your job to convince someone to see your value. The right person will never need a sales pitch.

The Illusion of Control
Chasing is sneaky because it feels like strength. You tell yourself, I’m fighting for love. I’m trying to make it work.
But really? Chasing is the heart’s version of begging the universe for a rerun. It’s trying to rewrite a story that’s already ended.
And I know that sounds harsh, but freedom comes when you stop mistaking movement for healing. You can’t chase peace, babe—you have to stand still long enough to let it find you.
💫 Psst… if this is resonating, you’re going to love my upcoming book, How to Navigate Heartache, Healing, and Love After Divorce — a deeply honest guide to rediscovering your worth and rebuilding your confidence after heartbreak. My “Chasing” Moment
Let me tell you a story.
There was a man I once loved so much it made me dizzy. When things fell apart, I convinced myself if I just said the right thing, if I just proved how loyal I was, maybe we’d find our way back.
I chased through texts, conversations, energy—whatever I could control. And all it did was keep me stuck in a loop of almost's and what-ifs.
Then one day, I stopped. Not because I wanted to, but because I was tired. Tired of running after someone who only looked back to make sure I was still following.
That was the moment I realized chasing wasn’t romantic—it was self-abandonment dressed up as devotion.
What Happens When You Stop Chasing
When you finally stop chasing, something sacred happens. You start aligning with peace instead of panic.
You attract calm instead of chaos.
You start recognizing the difference between connection and confusion.
You stop begging for breadcrumbs and start realizing—you were always the feast.
When you stop running after what’s leaving, you make space for what’s trying to arrive.
And the beautiful twist? You’ll be so at peace with yourself, you won’t even notice you stopped chasing—you’ll just be living.
How to Stop Chasing
Pause before the text. When that urge hits to “just check in,” ask yourself: Am I reaching out from peace or from panic?
Redirect your energy. Take all that effort you pour into them and invest it in yourself. Go for a walk, blast your favorite song, call your bestie.
Write it out. Journal the truth—not the fantasy. What are you really hoping they’ll say or do? Get honest with yourself.
Repeat the mantra: “If it’s meant for me, it won’t need convincing.”

When Peace Becomes the Prize
Here’s the magic nobody tells you: when you stop chasing, your energy changes.
You stop radiating anxiety and start exuding calm.
You stop grasping and start receiving.
And people feel that. The right ones are drawn to it.
Peace is magnetic. Confidence is irresistible.
The moment you decide you don’t have to chase is the moment everything you’re meant for starts finding you.
A Pep Talk for Your Heart
You don’t need to chase what’s not yours.
You don’t need to beg to be seen, chosen, or kept.
The ones who are meant to stay will meet you there.
They’ll show up. They’ll stay consistent. They’ll bring peace, not panic.
And you, my love—you’ll be too focused on your healing, your peace, and your joy to even think about chasing ever again.
Because what’s meant for you?
It won’t run away.
It will find you right where you’re standing—peaceful, radiant, and free.
